Where to buy computer glasses?

I've used the same frames for 29 years now. I think this is the 8th pair of lenses. If you've got good frames, it's definitely the way to go. Last time I got them it was $59 for impact resistant poly-carbonate lenses. I also use another one for driving which I just get glass lenses. Those are heavier and thicker, but they only cost me $49.

Then I add scratch resistant and anti-glare for $10 each on the main pair. On the driving pair I get tinted 80% gray to make them sunglasses. That was also $10.

Walmart will have to send them off to be made, so plan to be without those old frames for around two weeks. Lenscrafters can do them in about an hour and the lenses cost the same as walmart.

But be prepared ahead of time for them to try to upsell you. They love getting people into their sales. For only $99 you can get new frames that cost them $1.50 from China. And they will also tell you about tracing fees since your frames wouldn't be in their database. I tell em no, there will be no tracing fee or I go somewhere else. They'll also ALWAYS tell you the same schtick about your frames being old so they wouldn't have spare parts if they break. Well, they never have spare parts for any. That's ridiculous. And my frames are pretty much solid Flexon with fishing string underneath the lenses. Only 2 little screws can be replaced anyway. And I can get those screws at a checkout lane at walmart for $2, so screw their lies about spare parts.

Be ready to be firm about what you want. They will try pressure sales techniques when they find out you only want lenses. Their profit margin is in those frames and the add on coatings.

Oh, and one other thought on the spare parts nonsense. Every time I've gotten the lenses replaced, I've asked them to also replace the rubber nose pads, and the plastic liner that goes on the metal over the ears. They always do that for free. So really they do have spare parts for everything. They just continue to tell that lie to get you scared into buying new frames.
