Call of the Valley has jackshit to do with classical music. Anyone who listens to this album and expects classical music to be like it will be disappointed.

Also look at you taking a jab at Kaushiki Chakrabarty lol. Get the fuck out of here. Hating on her has been the current go to trick of charlatans to show how much they know Shastriya Sangeet She has become so famous even among lay listeners that, some no name dude on reddit is saying that she is "going at 10 notes/second just to show their proficiency". It was Amir Khan that established the "slow is good" fetish and now some people are taking it that anyone who plays "slow and calm" automatically becomes good music.

As far as call of the valley goes none of the musicians playing on it are good in the piece. Brij Bhusan Kabra is mediocre, Santoor doesn't suit Shastriya Sangeet at all and Hari Prasad Chaurasia is no where near the level of greatness as that of Pandit Pannalal Ghosh.

About good light classical and dhuns, choose any one of the name I listed above listen to their dhuns, bhajans etc and they will be better than call of the valley. You can also listen to specialty thumri singers like Girija Devi and so on.
