Learning magic, in my opinion, is a better journey and much more rewarding when you are doing it yourself. I would not pay anyone money to teach me, so unless you have someone willing to take you under there wing for free, I wouldn't suggest that to be the best plan of action. I find learning from one person, you tend to adapt only there way of learning, seeing things from one perspective and ultimately ending up just like them...

Saying that, there is nothing more valuable then having friends in magic and bouncing off ideas, learning from each other and doing it that way. You don't need to pay them and you have a bunch of people and thus not falling into the trap of having one perspective forced on you. Magic clubs are probably the best option so try and find a local magic club (that isn't the magic castle obviously) I'm sure people in that area can point you in the right direction. If not, just search out there for magicians in your area and grab a coffee or something with them. Attend as many lectures as you can as well and books are the golden ticket to knowledge in magic.

Last thing, don't solely perform in front of your webcam/mirror as getting into the habit of watching yourself and not concentrating on what you're doing/thinking. Go perform for people and that is the best way to get experience. See what the effect looks like on film after you learn something but after you're happy with that, go perform, you'll figure out what works and doesn't when you have instant live feedback...

My point is basically, be as diverse as you can when learning, gain as much experience from as many different people and audiences. See what you're good at and what type of audience you thrive with. See what type of magic you are good at and what stuff you dislike. Figure it out yourself and don't let anyone tell you different (hence my discouragement for a teacher). Of course, everyone needs a little guidance, which is what magic friends are for, or online forums like this...
