You’re right about the mental health thing but I do agree with the Jung line about most people needing religion instead of psychotherapy. and that applies double for the boomers IMO. They’re always smart enough to seek truth but too egotistical to submit to it.

And I’m not religious at all. We all look for meaning in our environment, though. And the boomers tried every last thing in the playbook that would still allow them to have their “freedom”

I know I’m starting to sound like I’m veering into religious fundamentalism here or something but that’s not the case. I’m just trying to look at the bigger picture which is difficult as the world has changed so much in the last 75 years and seems to be changing ever faster, so fast that it’s hard to get a grapple on reality.
