When I was in high school my friends and I discovered this abandoned place very far out in the country and not close to anything. It was massive, about the size of a high school. It was some kind of religious center / church / monastery. There were fields in front and a long driveway to reach the building completely surrounded by huge pine trees, so you wouldn’t know it was there unless you went down the drive. We started going at night, driving around the building and grounds slowly just seeing what was around. There was a small cemetery on the property and there were mangled tricycles and bikes around. Eventually we got brave enough to go inside. We only ever went at night to not get caught. Once inside there were tremendous long hallways with countless rooms and doors on either side. Some had old hospital beds in them, some just piles of trash. We discovered a huge kitchen, a boiler room, and in the middle there was a big church completely dark and empty. We ended up going there almost every weekend. Each time we would explore more and more of the property. It was the creepiest, weirdest place I’ve ever been. There were constantly sounds happening in other parts of the building. I would always catch shadows and thing people were there hiding from us. The amount of excitement and dread I felt every time I was there was insane.
