Where would you focus, if you had my goals?

Ask yourself this. If getting into an altercation is SUCH a massive worry of yours why aren't you spending your time taking classes focused on de-escalation and taking track.

Haha, I mean don't get me wrong man I don't actually think I'll ever need it. But, when your brain is wired to think you're incapable of defending yourself and you've been a white belt for a few years getting absolutely smashed by big strong guys, it tends to make you question if you can actually defend yourself. Obviously, that'll improve as I train and has, but I think this is more of a theoretical approach than practical. I just want the ease of mind of knowing I have the right approach to that situation, as it's the only time I will likely ever need to use BJJ outside of for fun and exercising.

I don't know what country you live in but IIRC at least in the US and Canada legally it's actually WAY better to break someone's limb than choke them, as choking is considered lethal force the same way a gun is.

I really cannot even grasp how that would make sense. I've been strangled many many times in BJJ and even been put to sleep a few times... Where is the lethal force? Obviously if someone held it for 30 damn seconds, sure I could get brain damage, but who's going to sit there holding a strangle on someone flopping around and snoring?

The takedown that separated my ac joint was WAYYYY worse than any strangle I've ever had, albeit I guess you can't die from it lol. Mad world if that's true.
