I just don't think something like this translated well in the Lion King universe.
I mean, is being a queen lion significantly different than being a regular lion? I imagine you're responsible for less hunting on a day-to-day basis, have some tighter social limitations to follow, and your family members may periodically try and kill you.
Compared to the difference between human royalty and regular-ass people, I just don't think it does a good job emphasizing what they were going for.
Then again, I don't have an in-depth understanding of fictional, anthropomorphized animal royalty. I also don't know that I'm that invested in a minor detail of a disney movie.
