Their are two sides to this issue about the west promoting their ideals too.

Firstly, it made the general global population more aware of basic human rights such as equality. These ideals have done wonders for women in muslim countries (I am a witness to this) and the West is the only force keeping their asses somewhat in check. It is even necessary I would argue and ensures that governments in Europe maintain a rule of law (including Russia until the fraudulent elections for changing the constitution in July 2020).

However, the West fucks up really bad when they now expect everyone all over the world to accept things that are beyond their cultural understanding. I am okay with gay rights but its wrong to force societies to accept something they find disgusting before they have the chance to even develop. This includes immigration too.
