Which subreddit has moved the farthest from its intended purpose and how?

Deferring to the consensus represented by organizations that are informed by experts in relevant fields isn't inherantly a fallacy though (which is obviously what you're trying to imply). Bringing up the fact that large organizations composed of and informed by expects in those fields support the position you're arguing in favor of should carry weight in an argument, unless you really think you know better than them (of course that's not to say those organizations or their findings are always flawless or free of some sort of prejudice or agenda, but I'm more likely to take those claims seriously if they come from someone or a group that has the same or other relevant expertise, and not some rando on reddit).
