The word "best" leaves much to interpretation.
I made the point. "Best" can be many things.
In my personal opinion, Dual Survivor is the best. It is entertaining, educational, realistic, has conflict among survivors, presented in realistic situations, etc. These guys can hunt with nothing, start fires with wet tree sap, and make you smile, laugh, and shake your head, along the way. "surviving on this salt land island without without water is like playing pick up sticks with your butt cheeks" actual quote. Watch these guys get dropped in a shit situation and look like they are on a paradise vacation. One episode Matt made 2 hammocks with an end table and had cups of water sitting on the table with straws in it. Fuckers make a survival situation look like a nice vacation. Matt is wicked with the at-latel (spelling?). Mad entertaining, educational show.
Second best would be "Dude your screwed." It is educational, realistic, entertaining. It teaches the right way, makes you laugh, and provides a minimum level of realism. These guys face the hardest conditions their adversaries can imagine for them. Think snow drenched shit land of death, and you have to get out in 100 hours or you lose. Good shit here.
Survivorman is on the lower end. The show is boring. Watch it and fall asleep if you back to back episodes. Yea, he is alone with the camera; so what? It is boring. Second; he cannot hunt for shit. He has ate shit food that has had serious effects after filming. Worms, grubs, tree bark is what you find him eating. I saw a video about the food he has eaten that has created serious problems for him. A turtle he ate gave him worms in his mouth he could not get rid of. He is also entry level fire starting. Set him against someone like Matt Graham and you begin to see how entry level his fire skills are. Slow, minimum educational, non entertaining TV is what you get here.
Man vs wild- this guy is the rock bottom. Spends time in hotel rooms at night pretending to be in the wild, teaches drinking piss to avoid dehydration, and has set enhancers with fog machines and the like to teach extreme risk taking as practical in a survival situation. This guy is an insult to a survival situation. In his hotel room laughing all the way to the bank. Entertaining if you do not understand it is staged, educational level is detrimental, realism is staged and laughable if you do a little research. Spending the night in a hotel room is not survival. It is bull shit to mislead viewers.
Man woman wild= the worst. Not even worth going into why it sucks so bad....but I'll take a little dive. Not entertaining, unless you enjoy some woman talking about how her busband looks good in his survival underwear. Not educational unless you enjoy an inflated army head talking about how he could and would do things, but can't because his butt hurts from his hot wife looking at it. Not educational unless you consider showing how to be rescued from the camera crew educational because you are too busy flaunting your ass in underwear to your hot wife to find water/fire and survive. Watch this show if you know anything about a survival situation and want to be pissed off about people making money teaching survival that know less than prehistoric frog shit about survival.
