White House to extend student loan pause through August

Even forgiving 10k would be a stretch in the actual voter gain.

After all its

A) Increasing inflation in a period of high inflation (and the pause is aswell).

B) Transfering wealth from the lower incomes to a smaller amount of people who are generally better off. And inflation effects the lower incomes the most.

C) Targeting a group that historically doesnt vote in massive numbers.

Would canceling debt or just interest be the right thing to do morally? In a vacuum it would be. But nothing is done in a vacuum, and we really should ask if this would be the best direction to send money. After all less than a majority of people 25-30 have a bachelors or associates (~37% have bachelors).

And this primarily effects people who went to private universities which is an even smaller percentage of those ~37%. Around 75% of people go to public university, but in the past two decades its fluctuated between 70 and 80%.
