White House: Robots may take half of our jobs, and we should embrace it

Profiteering corporations are going to pursue automation regardless of statements from the White House.

So many were enamored by Trump wanting to bring back jobs to America. The potential scenarios that can play out. 1) Jobs come back but wages remain stagnant so the working class can't afford the products they manufacture, but they do stay affordable to those higher up the social hierarchy since the added labor costs won't affect them as much (may happen, but automation will take over eventually). 2) Jobs do come back and those manufacturing our products are given a wage that lets them enjoy the fruits of their labor (not going to happen). 3) Companies are given tax incentives to move back home and manufacture goods, but employ robotic labor instead of human labor to keep costs down (most likely to happen). Having said all of that, even the Chinese firms have been replacing human labor with robotic labor as wages have increased. Either society moves to some sort of basic income or we find ourselves in a new era of robber barons.
