Who are you?

I'm a software developer for a major healthcare company. Like many people I went through political transformations throughout my life. I was raised hardcore South Baptist and conspiratorial conservative, the kind of low-effort tea party stuff that surrounds the modern Palins and Trumps.

Like so many other teenagers full of myself and my infallibility and my inability to deeply understand the difference between me and others, I became a Libertarian.

A few years later I came to the rather final conclusion that a Libertarian system would only work if everyone was similar to me, and I had at that point had enough of that pre-frontal cortex development that I could begin to deeply appreciate my fallibility, differences between me and others.

The freedom focused libertarian mindset, combined with a fast growing love for biology led me to get my Bachelors of Science in Evolutionary Biology. During the years I spent locked away in laboratories and roaming through creeks in weighters, I came to peace with the realization that Biblical Literalism and modern science, specifically evolution, were wholly incomparable. I saw no point in Christianity without Literalism. By my 30th birthday I hadn't been a Christian for over a decade and was the happiest and most complete I'd ever been, not counting the light bigotry that I continue to experience from Christians, even my own family, here in Georgia. Is what it is, that's my cross to bear, my choice, but it certainly played and continues to play a huge role in my political leanings: I won't vote for someone who hates me and what I stand for.

Through college and my quest to become a medical professional or scientist I became enamored with concepts like technocracy, AI controlled government, social democracies, and finally, just as I rejected my Libertarianism, I rejected many of these ideas too. I believe there will be an era when a truly non-corrupt AI government could exist, but this is not that era!

I am a deeply empathetic person, which to many people here means you would call me a "liberal", a "feminist" or a "SJW". I don't believe in censorship and mandatory political correctness, but rather in the idea of Genuine Human Empathy, something I learned from Christianity in my childhood. Something that I do NOT see from the Christian establishment or its supporters.

So you might ask, why am I here? What am I doing here? Why would I write this post when it will likely just earn downvotes?

The simplest answer is: Enemy of my enemy. We share a common foe, we share a common disdain, a common appreciation for the dignity of the office, the honor of our country, the integrity of ideologies.

Watching conservatives split from Trump warmed me to many of them, and while many make their routine cheapshots and engage in very low-effort stereotyping still, I am happy to see them take a stand against Doofus.

Why am I Never Trump? Because I think he's literally just another Kardashian or Hilton, a focus tested, pre-scripted character. A multi-millionaire (I consider the billionaire story to be a myth) surviving on their ability to behave notoriously and drive that into branding.

I'm not ready to elect what is essentially a reality television personality to the actually real most powerful position in the world.

Hope y'all don't mind non-conservatives around NeverTrump.
