Who are we?
What is this?
The realization of proclaiming my dedication to bettering the lives of others and increasing the efficiency of the buffalo community as a whole, starting with UB. I first would like to do so by changing the University stigma about mental health, privilege, sexual orientation, gender and etc.… by hoping that by writing my story on campus would make a difference in at least a single person’s life. Now you all know of my goals for this single piece of writing and what the impact I hope it will have. I plan to do so by telling small stories of my life to raise awareness for all the struggles I had while growing up and all the privileges I had as well, because if we cannot self-check our own identities then can we really say we are who we set ourselves out to be. Also keep in mind this, if many claim we are in control of who we want to be then is it correct to say that we really able to have a control of our own mind, yet our perspectives and thought system is flawed from the very minute we were brought into this world. So, in fact do we ever have a control of ourselves?

Topic of Writing: Mental Health
Time Period: Middle School – 5th Grade.
With every submission I will discuss a story, I would like readers to think about its impact it has had on you and why it should matter to you all.

Entity 1: I am nothing
Entity 2: We are nothing.
Entity 1: I am not worthy of living another second on this Earth.
Entity 2: Then don’t, end all the pain.
Entity 1: I would rather not continue to take up space on this Earth.
Entity 2: Okay. Let’s do it then, end it.
Entity 1: No one wants me here.
Entity 2: We don’t want us here.
Entity 1: I will never be happy
Entity 2: We will never be happy.
Entity 1: I will never be accepted for who I am, will my parents accept me liking boys.
Entity 2: Wait what, we like guys now? since when?
Entity 1: Are you sure?
Entity 2: Yes, I’m sure. Can’t you remember that guy in the 5th grade that we thought was cute and got upset when he transferred to a different school.
Entity 1: I want to end my life
Entity 2: Great how are we going to do that?
Entity 1: I want to it be slow and painful.
Entity 2: I know let’s jump in front of a car just outside the school yard.
Entity 1: Are you sure?
Entity 2: Yes, I’m sure. That’s settled, today after class we will try to kill our selves by sitting in the middle of the street.
Entity 1: Jumping in the middle of a car, that is going to hurt.
Entity 2: Yes, it would be, but that what we wanted, to end this all.
Entity 1: You are right.
Entity 2: This what we wanted.
Entity 1: I’m here now, outside.
Entity 2: Okay then just go and sit in the middle of the street and wait for a car.
Entity 1: It’s that boy I like.
Entity 2: I’m going to tell him about our plans.
Entity 1: He doesn’t seem too thrilled about.
Entity 2: It’s okay let’s just wait for a car to pass by and it will all be over.
Entity 1: He is pulling on my shirt and telling me to get up.
Entity 2: It’s okay he can’t move us, we are fine.
Entity 1: Its been forever when is a car coming to hit me already?
Entity 2: Don’t worry stick it through, we got this. Think about the relief.
Entity 1: He is still standing next to me.
Entity 2: Yeah, he doesn’t understand us, no one will.
Entity 1: A car is coming what should I do?
Entity 2: Stay sitting down idiot, we wanted this all along
Entity 1: I don’t think I shouldn’t do this I’m leaving,
Entity 2: No, its okay we can do this together.
Entity 1: It is getting closer.
Entity 2: It is isn’t? the pain will be over.
Entity 1: He is trying to move me again.
Entity 2: He can’t, stop worrying
Entity 1: He won’t stop yelling,
Entity 2: It is all going to be okay.
Entity 1: I’m moving out of the way.
Entity 2: No don’t, you don’t understand what will happen if we do.
Entity 1: I don’t want this to happen.
Entity 2*:* Yes, we do.
Entity 1: I want to live.
Entity 2*:* No, we don’t.
Entity 1: I like boys,
Entity 2*:* No, we don’t, stop, don’t say that, we are still too young to know.
Entity 1: I am sad.
Entity 2*:* Yes, we are.
Entity 1: We are, aren’t we?
