CNRL Oil Processing (Ft. MacMurray) Panel Operator and Refinery Operator (2014 to 2016)
Responsible for the safe operation of twin Natural Gas 90KPPH Cleaver Brooks A-Type watertube boilers as well as related auxiliary systems, backup equipment and safety systems. The scope of my job includes monitoring flow of steam and adjusting as heat required by the process is subject to modulation. Routine checks of multimedia filters, softness, reverse osmosis deionizers, air compressors and air dryer checks, dew point monitoring, monitoring of deaerator heater and feed water pumps as well as condensate reheat and economizers.
Currently at our plant we produce 50 metric tonnes of Oil per hour operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We use low volume high capacity Garioni Coil Type boilers capible of supplying steam up to 700psi. Minimum 2140btu to Maximum 9338 btu/hour. I am also responsible for the operation of the ammonia system and nitrogen system.
Was also involved with commissioning this plant, the end stages of its construction and optimization of its systems.

Responsibilities included but were not limited to the operation and maintenance of two tandem 500hp boilers and one stand alone 200 for heating the University and its dorms. Also included in my responsibilities were the routine and preventative maintenance as well as operations of the air handling systems for all buildings on campus.
