Who do you think is the best Modern Director?

David Lynch is making a new movie, and I think Inland Empire and The Return are some of the best work he's done if not the best. I think PTA is underrated if anything. All of his movies seem like masterpieces to me except Hard Eight which is still great. Malick is still making movies, and I've never been disappointed by Malick.

I'm not as familiar with what's going on outside of America. I constantly hear references to acclaimed directors I have never heard of. However, Noe's movies captivate and effect me like nothing else I've seen. I could probably just watch Noe's films on repeat for a month and be happy. I don't understand why people hate him so much. I also have really been enjoying Luca Guadagnino, and I expect his films to age well. I Am Love is beautiful.
