Who is Dyrus and why is everyone so sad about him in the League of legends subreddit?

He was a player on one of the most popular professional League of Legends teams in North America (TSM). His career was about 6 years long, and he's been playing the game since it was in beta. His results are also pretty impressive.

His last game as a professional was today, where his team got knocked out of the world championship that's going on right now. His team has not been doing well recently, and he's kind of famous for being focused by his enemy team while getting no help from his own team, so naturally, his scores and performance look worse than they actually are.

He also gave this emotional interview, which really made a lot of people step back and realize just how much this guy has done with his career. Naturally, many are reminiscing and hoping the best for him, although others...have not been as kind, mainly criticizing his performance.

He's generally well liked because his stream (back when the game was still pretty small) was what brought a lot of people into league in the first place. He would pull insane viewers on Twitch, all while hardly speaking, which is pretty impressive on its own. He also has a very signature monotone voice and is generally very stoic. If you want to see highlights, this thread is a pretty good start. I'd recommend him playing the heart surgery simulator; his laughter is pretty infectious :)

Damn, typing this out made me realize how much I'm gonna miss him.
