Who else took their clothes off, let a stranger touch them all over and rub oil on them, then swore an oath never to talk about it?

Yes, so overwhelming! In my experience, I was totally naked. I changed into the poncho, in a private dressing room before the ceremony. Then I walked out into a curtained area where the ceremony would take place. There were two women in the room with me. When I went in 1995, one woman put her hands on my head and said a memorized blessing. Then that same woman touched parts of my body with oil on her fingers or water. At the ending of the ceremony, I got to put the to put on the "robes of the holy priesthood garments on while wearing the poncho. Then I went through a the rest of the temple ceremony where I: had to chant; learned secret handshakes; put on a robe, a veil (I'm female) and an apron; stand in a circle and cover my face with that veil. I did this all without knowing any of this ceremony beforehand. The only thing I knew about the temple ceremony was that there was a point where the officiate asks if anyone wants to leave...this is asked AFTER the nude part of the ceremony. Most Mormons feel so much pressure for their entire lives just to get to the temple, so stopping this ceremony or saying "no" in the middle of it would almost be a psychological impossibility. The temple ceremony is literally the gateway to Mormon heaven. I had forgotten a lot of this util I read this post.
