It can be fun to use it facetiously/tongue-in-cheek, like, when someone does something impressive, you can call them a "based alpha chad" and when they're doing something cowardly, or shirking their responsibilities, you call them a "beta soy cuckboi"

Conversely, if they are a woman and stand up for something, you can call them a "based alpha stacey" but there's not really a feminine equivalent for "beta soy cuckboi"

Words have meaning, and I find it entertaining to use them in a way that claims the meaning as something non-problematic, but people who GENUINELY use "alpha" unironically, and try to imitate those qualities, those are the people that get mocked with "beta soy cuckboi" directly.
