I used to fall asleep on the subway on my way home from work. Dead-to-the-world sleep. I was lucky enough that I worked near the last stop, so I usually got a good seat where I could sit and just sleep for like 20-30 minutes and wake up in plenty of time for my stop.
One day, I woke up from my sleep to find a woman ... nestled up against me. I slowly realized what was going on, thought... Oh maybe she fell asleep too. Nope. She was awake. Did my rousing wake her, or was she awake the whole time? Was she nestled up against me for a while or did her settling in wake me up?
This wasn't like - her head ended up on my shoulder, but fully body contact.
Turning your head to look at someone when they're that close to you is awkward in the best of times, so I only have a passing impression of what she looked like. We stay like this for a some time. Maybe 5 minutes go by - give or take, and she gets up and walks off the train. She didn't turn around, didn't look at me. Just got up and walked off the train.
My impressions of her were... Maybe mid 30's to mid 40's. Slender. Attractive. Brunette. Confident.
This is a true story.
