Ancient texts and legends make reference to horrific monsters that plagued even the Heavens, powerful beasts that could fell even the Gods. Today, we know these creatures as Demons. They hail from a twisted Hell in the Lower Realms, a place which no mortal has ever entered and returned from. In these myths, there are recurring references to individuals who held sway over the ancient Demon; for our purposes, we have named this group the Lord of Hell, though others have taken to the term "Dark Zodiac"--a ridiculous name, honestly. We have identified up to thirteen of these so called Lords, though exact details about them remain a mystery. They appear across multiple myths in every Realm. By all accounts, they were to Demons what Gods are to us. According to legend, they grew envious of the Gods, and came to wage war on the Heavens; for their hubris, they were cast out, into the oblivion of the Lower Realms.
There is little else to be said of them. Supposedly, the remains of one of these Lords appear in the sky of Tigris during the Realm's Summer Solstice. Local legend says this monster was a serpent with one-thousand heads, who consumed the stars. He was slain by a warrior God, and all of the severed heads fell to the Lower Realms and became the Demons we now call Vritra.
