Who is the worst band you've ever seen live and why?

In high school I formed a punk band when I was 14 and we played our debut show at a showcase in a high school gym that featured 4 or 5 other bands. Well, one of the "headliners" for this magical evening was a goth band called AngelSin. This was in the late 90s so goth's moment really had passed, and the guys in this band were significantly older than us and most of the kids in the auditorium. Now mind you, this was a pretty rinky dink event, and we probably only had about 50 people show up, tops. Nevertheless, the lead singer of this band was taking this evening and himself as seriously as a heart attack, which was a striking contrast to most of the other bands who were there, mostly comprised of 15 year olds singing songs about boobs.

AngelSin finally takes the stage. They have roadies, a fog machine, they're wearing costumes, their keyboardist probably has about $5,000 worth of equipment, and the singer is parading around the stage like he's Marilyn Manson. It was so incongruous with the rest of the evening everyone just watched in stunned silence while these crazy older guys did their thing, a thing which hadn't been cool in a really long time.

One of my friends manages to find a crucifix and decides to stand in front of the stage holding it up like he's banishing the devil. Midway through AngelSin's first song, the singer jumps off the stage and chases my friend out into the parking lot. The audience follows along with the rest of AngelSin. AngelSin are "holding back" the singer in dramatic fashion from whatever he was planning to do to my friend, which wouldn't have amounted to much since everyone in the crowd including the guys in AngelSin were either scrawny, nerdy, unathletic, or had some other reason why they weren't popular in high school.

AngelSin never retook the stage and just somehow slinked away into the night while their roadies dismounted their equipment for a performance that lasted all of 30 seconds.
