I never met them, exactly, but I overheard three girls talking in a nightclub toilet one time when I was about twenty-four. They were discussing leaving their friend behind, because the three of them had hooked up with guys and 'It wasn't their fault that they had to bring that fat dyke along with them', and then came to the conclusion that they didn't have to tell her they were going and in fact it would be funnier if they didn't. They found the idea of abandoning their so-called friend there to be hilarious.

The thing is, I've been the girl on the other side of that, and it sucked -- but I could sort of rationalise it when it happened to me. It was hearing other people planning on doing it to someone else that really made my blood boil.

(I don't know whether or not they actually went through it. I was some time in the stall, and when I got out they'd left. I had a look around to see if there was anyone who looked like they'd been abandoned, but I didn't really have a lot to go on. I hope one of them had a moral revelation, but somehow I doubt it.)
