Former overnight grocery store clerk here. During the nights we get a huge shipment and completely restock the whole store, after filling the shelves we “face” all the items. AKA making the items in the isle straight and flat.

GATEKEEPING WARNING! This isle is literally the easiest to face and takes no effort to do, all of those cans with the plastic caps on top stack perfectly themselves all you have to do is just pull them to the front, and it’s organized by label so the color scheme wasn’t up to them. Someone else stocked all those shelves and then someone else spent 5-10 minutes just pulling everything to the front.

Side note: our regional manager would walk the isles with his hand against the edge of the display and if he found any part of any isle that wasn’t flat in the morning he would review the cameras and make a note of who fucked up. He did his once or twice a month.
