Dinner rules are arbitrary anyway.

I never understood the whole hammering on eating "right handed". Aside from the fact that assigning handedness to eating dinner is a bit pointless, it's labeled the wrong way around.

Think about the complexity of the motions for cutlery: a knife is limited to moving it in straight lines (direction depends on whether you're cutting or spreading) or holding it still. A fork is constantly being twisted around multiple axes to get food on it and move it to your mouth without dropping it off the fork.
A fork clearly requires more complex motions, yet holding it in your right hand is considered eating left-handed.

For what it's worth: I'm right handed (or ambidex, depending on your definition) but I eat with my fork in my right hand, knife in the left.
