[WHYBLT?] What Have You Been Listening To?

First time ive ever posted one of these. I'm keeping my own diary so I might as well just copy paste what I have into here.

Summoning - Minas Morgul (1995)

Austrian atmospheric black metallers have some pretty interesting stuff here. This is their 2nd album and the first I have listened to. The drums are programmed and there is lots of synth use. The songs are obviously extremely Tolkien inspired.

Summoning - Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame (2001)

Summoning seem to have continued to refine their style over the next couple albums. This is the second summoning abum I’ve listened to. This album has a lot of the same things you will find on Minas Morgul, lots of LOTR references, synths, programmed drums. There is also a lot of LOTR voice samples that apparently come from a radio version of the story. They seem to be using the same drum samples and reverb levels. It’s all a bit next level and more evolved from Minas Morgul.

Destroyer 666 - Unchain the Wolves (1997)

Really solid thrash. Has the black feel in a big way. There is also solid punkish feel, which is not uncommon of black metal.

Destroyer 666 - Phoenix Rising (2000)

This album is solid as fuck. I like it better than the last one. I don't really have much to say about this band even though these albums are good. There isn't many obviously punk riffs on this album like Unchain the Wolves.
