WIBTA for forcing my child to go to college at 13?

NAH.

This is damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I see a lot of comments about the mental toll - that works both ways. My parents had the opportunity to skip me ahead several times and chose not to due to advice that the cost to my social development would be too high being unable to relate to my classmates that much older.

Well, guess what? I wasn’t able to relate to my peers my own age either, I was bored sick in class, and was utterly miserable until I left home. By the time I got to college at the regularly scheduled time, I was so sick of going through the motions at school that I decided to party my ass off instead. (My own fault, not casting blame elsewhere.)

I think ultimately you need to present both sides of the equation to your kid and take their feelings into account. If they are not excited about going, it will go poorly. (Just as being miserable NOT going can go poorly.)
