I was against reporting him after I read the post until I saw this comment. I thought you were going to report him to the medical board, and while I think he waaay overstepped his boundaries, i think that would have been overkill. I was going to suggest you write a letter to him or his supervisor. This is perfect, and I think you should write this letter, maybe cc’ing him, if you’re comfortable. He should know that what he said was inappropriate. Honestly, if I were a physician who said this, I’d want to know too. Granted, I wouldn’t say that, but I’m erring on hoping he said something insensitive without malicious intent. Sometimes we say shitty things without meaning them. Hopefully that was the case here.
