WIBTA for telling my friend she shouldn't complain about money because she wastes what she does get?

Ywbta if you did imo. It sounds like this person has helped you out at one point in time. The two of you had drifted apart, seemingly because she did not appreciate your advice/you were unwilling to let her make her own decisions as an adult (even if they were poor financially).

By the sounds of it, the two of you are no longer really that close. While you know she is capable of making a good amount of money in a day, you likely dont know her financial picture inside and out any longer.

If there are other people you are trying to protect from being scammed, that's one thing I suppose, but if you just dont want people giving someone money that they may need (even if they are bad with money), especially when they have tried to help you before...that's not great.
