WIBTA if I got rid of a baby shower gift?

Okay... but when you say "the gift would be more to your benefit than your child’s", you're implying that loosely suggesting a color scheme and type of material somehow diminishes the benefit of the gifts for my kid. At the same time, you hold that my kid won't have any preferences to begin with. So I'm just wondering what the problem seems to be from your perspective.

Bear in mind, by the way, that this specific gift is objectively unsuitable for my child for at least another year. I'm just struggling to reconcile the accusation that I'm looking for gifts "for my benefit" over my child's when the gift in question doesn't benefit her in any way, shape, or form.
