WIBTA if I made up an excuse to skip my friend's wedding?

I'm sorry to say, but right now I'm leaning toward YWBTA. You've had MONTHS to figure out where the wedding was and figure out logistics and figure out a plan you would be comfortable with. Your sister could have told you about her recital MONTHS ago as well. She's probably had the date for awhile. She needs to learn that people can't just drop plans at the drop of a hat pin.

Your excuses of a heat wave really isn't much of a good excuse. Cars have AC. You won't be in boiling for 10 hours. There are ways to manage car sickness as well. I can get car sick too and I have a routine that can help if I feel a little woozy.

Your friend has paid for you to be there and you have already said you would. Pulling out now without a legitimate excuse is poor etiquette in my opinion. Again you've had MONTHS to deal with this.

Why don't you really want to go to this wedding?
