WIBTA if I make my gf start paying some of the bills over a single incident?

Wow ok. You’re really going to make me spell it out for you. It doesn’t really sound like you’ve ever been in a relationship where you and your SO have both had to pay bills so let me give you some perspective.

My boyfriend makes $75k a year working for UPS and his union just negotiated a contract with UPS for a $4-$5 pay raise so (according to my bf) he’ll soon be making around $100k a year. He’s 28 without a college degree and he makes more than half of what I do. I’m 22. I don’t have my degree yet so I make $16 an hour working part time for a medical office while I’m taking classes. He pays the larger portion of bills while I pay a proportionate share to what I earn which must be too convoluted of an idea for reddit to grasp. I’m just going to assume most people who disagree with this have never been in relationships where they’ve had to pay bills together.
