WIBTA if I went to a wedding my boyfriend wasn't invited to without him?

Not sure why I'm bothered about someone I don't know thinking I'm lying, but long story short, both stories are true and about the same guy.

The only lie here is the actual timing.

I'm 30 now. This was a real life issue back when I was 23 with my then-boyfriend, now fiance.

I did deliberate on it for a while and attempt to discuss it with him. The conversation didn't go well, so I ended up skipping the wedding. The bride, groom, and I are no longer friends. The relationship with him continued.

The reason I chose to post it this way is that 7 years later, he still occasionally brings up the fact that I considered attending this wedding in arguments, and recommended I post here and see what people say. He was SURE most people would agree I was TA.

And I'm still not sure I wasn't just for asking about it, even though I ended up not going and just sending a gift.

I'll probably end up deleting this whole post and not bringing up the result to him as I'm not particularly interested in bringing up old issues. I'll just let him think he's right and in the majority I guess. I was curious what reddit thought.

Thanks for calling me a liar though.
