Wife doesn't want to spend night at my mother's with our 6 mos. son ...

That's good to hear. I understand that it could be wearying to hear us moaning about men all the time but it's a recurring theme that we see in real life and online support groups. So many husbands are just blind to the amount of work that their partners do in terms of household management and childcare whilst grossly overestimating and demanding adulation for their own contributions to family life. Example: yesterday I did all the Halloween prep, made the costumes, decorated, ran out to buy candy when I realized DH had been slowly working his way through what I'd already bought... all whilst doing the normal daily things like cooking dinner and caring for our infant. I asked DH to take our 4 year old trick or treating round the neighborhood and he acted like that was a huge ask but eventually said okay when I said if I went he'd have to stay home with the grumpy baby. I took a picture of them before they left. This morning he posted the pic on facebook and is getting all kinds of praise for being a good dad and he legit thinks he's father of the year for going trick or treating for 20 minutes.
