Wife is a full-time student, I work full time. Looking for solutions to make “after daycare childcare” work so she gets the time she needs for school?

Only 2 more semesters. You can get through this!

1) You're balking at 200$/month parking, but it's an investment in your future. If you can throw any money at this problem, it's worth it even if it adds to your student loans. If you could do AM drop-off, your wife could be at school by 6am.

2) Is your wife job hunting? Companies start recruiting in the fall in prep for graduation, and that should be the real goal, not good grades (obviously depends on her field and future plans). Maybe she can lower her academic standards and scrape by with some C's?

3) I know lots of parents who leave work early for daycare pickup, then bring their laptops home to work extra hours after their kid is asleep. Would your work allow you to do that? Could your wife do the same, drop kid at home, then go back to school at night? Would none of her study groups agree to meet over Zoom instead of in person?

4) Changing daycares, a second vehicle, asking your parents for help, hiring someone to pick up your child, changing jobs, getting a nanny, getting a line of credit to rent an apartment that's in a more convenient location. Maybe these sound extreme, but you have to get creative when you have kids. The sacrifices will be worth it when your wife graduates.
