Wife wants Macbook. I'm not so sure.

Macbooks are generally pretty great -- but so are some of the latest PC laptops. If she has an iPhone or an iPad, there are some possibly useful features of the macbook and/or the apps in the app stores, taking advantage of cloud or hardware connectivity between iOS and OS X devices. Macbooks are "beautiful" -- some newer PC laptops try to emulate the sleekness of a Macbook by adopting similar manufacturing processes, but there's really no equivalent in quality enclosures and keyboards combined with all the other benefits of a Mac (if that's an advantage.) If you guys go for a PC, you will save several hundred dollars (at a minimum) for similar specs. Macbooks have great resale value a couple years out, in case she ends up hating Apple. On the other hand, Windows 10 constant updates/reboots and advertisements can be very annoying. Good luck with whichever you guys decide on.
