A wife's rant...

This is a cultural divide between American Culture and English Culture.

I am going to offend people with this comment & get down voted BUT I'm speaking from personal experience of living in both the UK and USA.

British Women are far more independent and more out spoken then American Women. This isn't in all cases but it is in most. By out spoken I mean they HATE being treated like they are objects or the weaker sex or that they can't do everything a man can do. British women will go out to clubs and party's alone without thinking twice about it and if anyone try's to objectify them you got hell to pay. Women also out drink men in Pubs, bars and clubs here in england. They go out for drinks at the bar/pub like a American man would. The point being Men and Women in England are on more equal footing in terms of culture.

American Women SEEM to be more conservative. They don't think they can go out for drinks at a bar or go out alone or act like guys do for fear of backlash. They get slut shamed or called whores more in American society. They get abused in frat houses because MEN get away with that shit because its more a mans world in America. There is also A LOT more sexism in American media & Culture then British media.

In American Culture its always about the guy acting macho and protecting his women. Women are also seen more as sex objects. They are heavily objectified.

From the stand point of a British guy I do think the Divas are dressed to objectify them rather then take them seriously as wrestlers or entertainers. They do sometimes look like they are dressed purely to objectify themselves rather then for a bloody wrestling match! If the Women were dressed like the men in full wrestling gear such as a wrestling leotard with pads etc then they would be taken more seriously.

There are a lot of men in the WWE who dress in casual gear or gear that's more practical for a wrestling match. It ranges from guys like Ambrose/Harper who dress in Jeans and a top/jacket to guys in leotards or standard wrestling trucks/pads.

I don't know if the Women wrestlers are required to dress the way they do or if they can dress how they want. Either way it would be easier to take the Women's division (I hate the diva name) seriously if more women in it dressed like they were taking part in a wrestling match.
