The Indian Varna system is only based on occupation. So Being born to a Kshatriya doesn't make anyone a Kshatriya. This definition of caste got corrupted over the years because of the insecurities of certain upper caste people who didn't want their children to lose the caste given respect.

Coming to you, you are not a dalit. You probably fall somewhere above Kshatriya but below Brahman based on the Varna system. So you should not feel ashamed or insecure about it. Ideally these systems are not even relevant anymore in the current structure of the society. But since it gives a false sense of pride to a small group of upper caste idiots, it can never be eradicated.

What you should do is to start acting like an upper caste person. Is it hard for you to hide your caste or lie about it when asked? Your name doesn't reveal your caste which is good thing. Its hard for me to relate to your situation completely but all I can say is that if I was in your position I would not mind lying about my caste or hiding things that reveal my caste. You are well educated and smart enough to figure out ways to achieve this. This whole caste system is anyway a lie so why worry about a lie.
