You will never be Japanese

This got morbid fast. I didn’t know people thought they could literally become Japanese from learning the language. I also didn’t know there was something wrong with wanting to learn about another culture. I learned Chinese when I was a kid. I learned French Italian Latin and Spanish in preparation for picking a language to pursue in middle and high school. I chose Spanish because it’s more common in the US. I decided to try to teach myself Japanese because I have always enjoyed learning another language. I can’t really explain it but I’m definitely not trying to change my identity. Next I want to learn sign language. So whatever the reason for this post was, I hope it was a good one
