Will a personal loan to pay off $3000 in credit card debt help boost my credit score?

yeah that is definitely something to think about. Anytime I have had to max out my credit cards it has been due to going through unforeseen financial issues that made it necessary at the time, but unless going the personal loan route will net me a dramatically higher credit score than just paying off the cards, I’d rather be safe and not worry about possibly taking on more debt. I don’t necessarily need a higher credit score right now, but as long as I can get it into the high 600s by sometime next year I would be happy with that. In your opinion, would paying off the CC debt completely within this year just by making payments on the cards bring me into about the same range of credit score that I would have had I gone with the personal loan route?
