Ha— not where I grew up and even where I live now. “Being racist” is believing that people with the dominant skin shade are inherently better than others… due to their skin tone. (On Jada’s part of Earth, the lighter the skin tone, the higher the station.) The people with dominant skin tone are outwardly racist when they treat people differently, call them names, spit on them, try to take their rights away: that is racist behavior.

If this is what you’ve experienced, and the total arbitrariness and senselessness of it tints your whole worldview, that doesn’t make you racist, it makes you human, it makes you protective, and it makes you want to tell people about it— especially if you’ve got Pinkett-Smith money.
