Willie Nelson playing (shredding strings) around a bunch of songwriters- all in awe-'cept Mickey Gilley (Gilley's) looking sad? in the back.

Because that's what he/she told me when the circlejerk shit storm started. My post was a little "volatile" and pointed because I was pissed and it was getting traction and got pulled. Mod was posting explaining why original was pulled and then mine disappeared. Someone else posted referencing my post being pulled, in addition to the original post, but the mod had already told me why the original was pulled, then mine was "gone" and suddenly returned after the other person posted requesting a public explanation from the mods. Then, in that post all this "auto-mods" did it crap came up and "way to go mods" back slapping wrapped it up as boo-yah great job, like I was simply a reactionary air-brain and the integrity of the sub had been saved. The mod had even posted the original Guy Clark link to show me that it was rather vacuous and indirect a "shitty post", but it did simply say Guy was dead. The fact that it required my simply emotional why would anything about Guy Clark dying require a literary editorial censure even happened sparked the debate. The subsequent bullshit about my post being pulled as repetitious spam (it was put back up before i knew it was down) just wasn't true. At that point there was no other mention of Clark's passing even on the sub, which was the fuel for the flame. Maybe a thousand ents flagged it as spam in 10 minutes which was the implied timeline on the "way to go mods" post, but that's not what happened. Butt hurt, as you mentioned, was not on my part, it was on the part of those modding the sub and the fan boys once the heat was pulled over to another post where the conversation could get "controlled", and it did. I have no axe to grind, don't give a fuck, but the mod suggested in a passive aggressive way that helping them/ the community to understand more about why certain people and things were "Austin" would help out. Hence my Willie posts. The initial reaction regarding Guy's passing made it clear there was a huge disconnect- like didn't have any idea who he was or his relationship to Austin- and then a lot of cya energy was expended to alter that reality. All done- hope the wall of text helps- write it off- don't care. I'm not an idiot or particularly reactionary and I had no trouble seeing what happened. Nor am i paranoid etc, but it was disappointing, yet confirmed (as I have said in some posts I may have deleted, that the disconnect in this sub regarding Austin, (not the "Old Austin" fck the new people meme) simply the lack of cohesion between the city and this sub, hit a nerve and it got "smoothed over" reddit damn quick. Kudos, I guess. The "overposts" of Willie scared folks and I apologized. The complete zero posts of Guy dying (except the one pulled) just set me sideways.

TLDR: Enough energy wasted, but the communication from mod once I had my fit and the timeline made it very clear, in a non-paranoid way, what had happened. And I really don't give two shits.

Operation Lesson Learned.

Enjoy your evening and your life.
