Well this is the key caveat. If you only have to give up Scottie Barnes matching salary and like one pick then you have enough assets for a win now window where you can make further trades and be a legit title contender around a core of Durant/Siakam/FVV/whatever else. I think there's a fairly reasonable case for doing that depending on specific parameters.

However.....if you have to give up Barnes AND all the picks, all the pick swaps etc so you have no assets left then no it makes no sense. I dont think the Raptors will trade Barnes no matter what, but if it gets to the pt the market is such Barnes, matching salary and like one pick would do it it would be worth seriously considering.
