Wisconsin Poised to Gut Its Campaign Finance and Anti-Corruption Laws: "This is really just about revenge," says Brendan Fischer, the general counsel at the Center for Media and Democracy, a watchdog group that focuses on government corruption.

Still going in about this? Anyone who followed this case closely and locally, knows how much bullshit this is. John Doe investigations are one of the biggest intrusions possiblYes, businesses are involved with government. No, it is NOT a good thing.

Why are businesses involved so deeply in government? Because government has the power. The only power over business that the government should have is the ability to crush monopolies (looking at you, Internet and banking). If government didn't so violently regulate businesses, businesses would be unable to buy power.

When the government gets involved with business, the only ones that "win" are the huge businesses. The wal-marts, the Chase banks, the McDonald's. They have the volume and monetary capital to absorb the costs of regulation and introduce legislation. The small businesses: your local eateries, your bars, repair shops, antique shops, tax professionals, manufacturers, print shops, are the ones who consistently get burned. If the government did not have that power, there would be no crony capitalism. This is a brief point, if you'd like me to go more into specifics of something, let me know and if I can, I will.

As for education... yes, money makes a difference, but only to a point. I went to Public schools my entire life. Our per - student spending was sub-10,000. And yet we were ranked right up there with schools that spent well over that. Meanwhile, MPS (Milwaukee Public Schools) spent around 30% more than us and have a FRACTION of the graduation rate and consistently perform terribly. Baltimore school districts, if I recall correctly, spent more than 13,000 per student and have some of the worst performance in the country. It is mismanagement of funds and societal problems that fuck up those schools. You can toss all the money you want into Milwaukee schools and they will still perform poorly. It is home life problems that need to be addressed. It can't be done with legislation.e by the government. They essentially don't have to tell you why you are being investigated, orwhat they are looking for. As long as there is a judge on their side they can do whatever they want. It is one of the most lawless investigative systems and is a blatent overreach of authority.
