I wish developers didn't see Android as a less profitable platform

It isn't circlejerking. If I make a for-profit, consumer-facing app and I release it on Android as a paid app it will make less money for me than an equivalent iOS version. If I make the Android app 'free' by cramming it full of shit ads and IAP, I can get my money since for some reason Android users respond better to watching a shitload of ads and buying an app one tiny piece at a time than just paying me up front.

I make apps to get paid. Android users hate paying for apps. It's not a circlejerk - it is a real problem. I WANT Android to be on equal footing with iOS in my development decisions, but until the majority of Android users stop using 'muh freedom' as an excuse for why they don't need to pay me, I am going to develop for iOS first and inject tons of ads and IAP into my Android apps so that I am not working for free.

Again, it isn't a circlejerk or some kind of unjustified bias. I can literally watch more money come in for my iOS apps than my Android apps on a regular basis. The only way my priorities shift to Android is if the flow of money from Android goes up.
