Why wish to be poor in this application process?

I don't feel this way towards people who are genuinely poor. I realize when you are genuinely disadvantaged, you probably don't live in the best school district with the most opportunities, and adults who tell you about scholarship opportunities and fee waivers.

Who I do feel this way towards are my friends whose families make just under the limit who own michael kors/kate spade bags, mac laptops, SAT tutor, iPads, live in a safe middle class neighborhood, and go out all the time just like everyone else all while taking advantage of free school lunch, free AP exams (over $500 savings.....), Free IB Exam (200 for 1 exam and registration), free UC apps ($280), Common App waivers.........lmao my dad brings in $2000 because he's in so much fucking debt. My mom brings in $140k by herself to cover mortgage, car payments, utilities, phone bills, clothing and food for 2 children, on top of thousands of dollars for SATs, AP exams, and IB exams, college apps, SENDING THE DAMN SAT SCORES FOR THE COLLEGE APPS (I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THIS), club fees. It's so fucking tight on our family and it genuinely PISSES me OFF when my "poor" friend says shit like "lmao its okay I can register late for the SAT because my fee waiver covers late fees" or "Yeah I didn't really wanna apply but I had a fee waiver and apparently I get a lot of financial aid" or "ugh i love that my mom qualifies, my ap tests are free so my mom said I can keep the exam money if I do well on my exams" like WTFFF. SO forgive me if I say "Damn I wish I was poor during the college app process," to these people.
