“With 95% confidence, we expect our Universe to last more than 10**58 years”

I'm not going to read the post cause I'm lazy or something like that so here's a ridiculous comment that we can all get riled up about.

A 95% confidence level is pretty ridiculous considering that the universe could very well last up to an infinite amount of time. That's like saying "we chose a random number and 95% of the time it was between 1058 and infinity." Considering the difference between 0 to 1058 and 1058 to ∞ you're infinitely more likely to choose a number between the second pair if you just rolled a dice. I'd be very concerned if they didn't get something closer to 100% confidence. That 5% means that there's a five percent chance that their hypothesis is wrong. The universe could end in the next couple of centuries for all we know and that would be within the limits of their error (probably not but you get the idea I hope). And who uses a 95% confidence interval. The scientific standard is 5sigma or else it's not worth the attention.
