As one of those obnoxious transplants, I don't complain for my own sake. I complain on behalf of the people who can't afford to maintain their cars well enough to drive in this weather. I've been to the store twice and can drive just fine on an ice sheet. I'll be fine. The people who got in car accidents aren't fine. Someone in my neighborhood almost got in a very bad accident yesterday while picking up her child. Us dumb transplants helped her out because we have dealt with this crap every year.

I wouldn't care as much if the locals didn't scream bloody fucking murder over what is, at best, a mild dusting. People got hurt. People who aren't well off enough to work a white collar job at home had to either drive in dangerous conditions or lose out on what little money they get.

No, your winters aren't special. No, this weather isn't all that bad. I'm so tired of every native trying to explain to me that this seriously horrible weather is just unmanageable. It isn't. Y'all are just handling it really badly and frankly, the entire country is making fun of you. Hope your pride keeps you warm once the bread and milk start running low.
