So iirc, if these poorer nations keep on getting donations and charities they eventually just stop even trying to create their own economies because they expect it to be for free.

For example, textiles are often donated for free to african nations and their own african companies who make shirts etc, cant compete with free since their stuff has costs associated with it and their general public are 100% ok wearing free clothes that are a bit out of place/random.

Definitely an odd conundrum where we mean morally well, but are actually adding to the problem. It would be much better to teach them how to fish so to speak and make use of the resources and labor skills.
