Without internet for nearly a week now. Thanks NBN. You've cost me several hundreds of dollars in new hardware and lost productivity. How is this acceptable? Who do we hold accountable?

I hit a nerve did I? The cheapest option in the shop I went to was way more than $60. You might be able to get a modem only for that but I didn't see any option close to $60.

I've never felt entitled on a non business service. But I rang up my ISP over a month ago to arrange the transition to the nbn. I was told that it would happen on a certain date and time and that there was nothing more I would need to do than plug in the new modem. I waited and on the day I was told, I lost my adsl connection and so I plugged in my new modem as instructed. I rang my ISP for assistance. I was on hold for over an hour and a half. I spent another 45 minutes on the phone with no resolution. They told me they would ring back. They didn't. Spent another hour and half on hold. I was upset at this point and wanted to leave my ISP because I don't accept such poor level of service. I told my ISP I no longer wanted to do business with them and that I would find a new ISP to use. I contacted an alternate ISP a week ago and now I am waiting for them. How can we as consumers hold our providers accountable when there really is no choice?

Actually you've just convinced me to take this to the TIO.
